Home » 2023 – About the Race

For 33+ years the MiJ has supported local charities. We are one of the longest standing, truly charitable running events in Halton. Over our tenure we have donated over ONE MILLION DOLLARS to local charities. We are so pleased to bring you our 33rd installment of the Moon in June, Saturday evening June 1st, 2024.

All monies from the Moon in June go directly to Radius Child and Youth Services to ensure that more children in Halton receive the timely help they need for treatment of abuse specific trauma.  The Moon in June has no paid staff, all organization is done voluntarily.

Radius is a non-profit agency that assists children and their families impacted by abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.  At present Radius has upwards of a 1 year wait list for these children in dire need.  Your support of our event brings much needed awareness to the services Radius provides and funding to help these children get the therapy they need in a timelier manner.

The Moon in June course is a flat fast one loop certified 5k and 2 loop certified 10km of downtown Burlington. The route highlights the fabulous Burlington Waterfront and downtown core.

*T-shirts to all registered runners and walkers up to MAY 15, 2024!

***GROUP DISCOUNTS***

Group and Team discounts are available for groups of 6 or more, contact Greg Pace for more details.

My name is Gordon Schottlander and I have been a resident of Burlington since 1950.

When I was 80 years of age I started running the Moon in June.  A 5k and 10k run and walk held on the first Saturday of June each year in the evening in downtown Burlington. Now I am 98 and still doing it.

WHY?

Because the charity of choice for this event is Radius Child and Youth Services who provide assessment and treatment to children, youth and families affected by abuse, neglect and domestic violence.

I do not know of another charity that touches my heart more.

PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THESE KIDS.

Won’t you join me with your families and grandchildren and great-grandchildren?

I will have four generations there….anyone with 5?

Mark your calendars.
